That is wild from Gordon as he tries to whip it in from the edge of the box but sends it well over into the South Stand.
79'
Minteh's cross into the box is brought down incredibly by O'Riley. The Danish midfielder spins and gets a shot away, but it's blocked and the Magpies get it cleared!
71'

VAR

VAR OVERTURNS ANOTHER NEWCASTLE PENALTY! Joe Willock dives to win it and he's punished with a yellow card. It's still 1-0 to the Albion.

YANKUBA MINTEH!!! The winger scores against his former club, again! He cuts into the box from the right and finds the bottom left corner with his in-step, with the ball taking a deflection off Dan Burn on the way in!
27'
Good chance for Joe Willock there as he gets down the left of the Albion box and looks to smash it past Verbruggen at his near post, but sends it over the Albion goal.

VAN HECKE CLEARS

Livramento and Barnes combine on the left to get past Wieffer and the latter crosses in, but van Hecke gets it away. A bit of a slow start for both teams this afternoon.
12'
Bart Verbruggen gets a touch on Barnes's shot across goal, tipping it behind for a corner. The referee takes a while to decide if it's a goal-kick or corner, eventually making the right call to give a corner.
9'

GOOD BALL FROM O'RILEY

The midfielder looks for the run of Minteh in behind and nearly finds him, with Dan Burn getting there just ahead of him and being forced to clear the ball out for a throw.

MINTEH NEEDS TREATMENT

The Gambian winger needs treatment after getting down the right and wrestling for possession with Livramento. He's able to carry on for now, but Brajan Gruda and Harry Howell warm up in case.

Kick-off

Newcastle get us started.

THE TEAMS ARE OUT

"Newcastle's strengths are their physicality, then especially their speed in the front line with Isak, Gordon, Barnes, Murphy. They all have individual quality there. "They have a lot of players who create dynamic situations from the midfield, Livramento with his underlaps and overlaps. Joelinton makes runs into the box. Tonali is there and arriving in the box. So they create a lot of dynamics. "They create a lot of power in their attacks. And on the other side, they're also very connected because they can play with the same starting 11 every week. They seem to be very resilient. We have a challenge regarding the physicality demand, and we have a challenge as to how to stop the dynamic play."

FABIAN HURZELER ON NEWCASTLE

"I think we always have a tough game against Brighton. We've had some good results at St. James' Park, historically, but not so much this season with the two games we lost. I thought they were really tight and could have gone either way. "They're a very good team, it's a good atmosphere and it's good for the away team as it's a lovely pitch. We would back ourselves against anybody but certainly know we're going to have to play at our very best because it's never an easy game there."
