Jack Hinshelwood joined the Albion academy when he was eight.

The versatile midfielder worked his way up the youth ranks, playing for our under-18s and under-21s, before making his Premier League debut on the last day of the 2022/23 season in a 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa.

He would make his full Premier League debut in September 2023 at Villa Park, before becoming a regular in the first team playing at right back. While playing in defence, Jack impressed going forward scoring three goals, all coming in wins against Brentford, Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

His season came to an early end in February 2024 due to a foot injury. His impressive season was rewarded with a new contract though, which runs until June 2028.

Jack has represented England at under-18, under-19 and under-21 level, with his debut for the latter coming in September 2024.

Jack comes from a long line of footballers, including his dad Adam, who made 100 league appearances for the club during the Withdean era, before turning to coaching and management.

Jack’s great grandfather Wally played for Fulham, Chelsea, Reading and Bristol City. Wally’s sons Paul and Martin both played for Crystal Palace, with Martin going on to coach and manage the Albion.

Martin’s son Danny, who is Jack’s uncle, also played for Albion and Portsmouth.
